Business Development Manager – New South Wales

Our New South Wales sales team are seeking a technically minded Business Development Manager to work as part of our national Sales, Specifications and Marketing team. This role would ideally suit someone experienced in technical sales or someone with high-level knowledge of fire rated and acoustic systems in the construction industry. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all customer requirements and expectations are met, as well as actively promoting Speedpanel and its systems in order to achieve Speedpanel’s targets, KPI’s and business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Identify potential markets for business growth
  • Source and develop a pipeline of potential customers
  • Manage a portfolio of key clientele to achieve business success
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with new and existing clients
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
  • Schedule and undertake on-site customer consultations and/or site inspections as and when required
  • Establish and maintain potential customer profiles using our CRM platform
  • Maintain detailed technical knowledge of Speedpanel products and systems
  • Positively market and promote Speedpanel and its products and systems
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Customer Service and other internal stakeholders to ensure customer expectations are met as and when required
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and grow opportunities within your territory
  • Prepare and provide reports on the status of accounts and transactions (pipeline, confirmed and forecasts) to the Regional and/or National Sales Manager as and when required
  • Ensure all performance targets are met within agreed timeframes
  • Ensure all administrative processes/paperwork is undertaken in accordance with agreed protocols and time frames

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant experience in construction industry, building supplier and/or related field preferred
  • Capacity to clearly articulate value proposition
  • Ability to identify and overcome the perception of risk
  • Capacity to clearly articulate Speedpanel value proposition
  • Proven work experience as a sales account / business development manager
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service experience
  • Proven experience in building strong, positive relationships
  • Demonstrated experience and success in cold call and closing sales
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out safe work practices with 100% compliance to company policies and procedures and OHS practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Ability to organise, plan and manage competing priorities while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Ability to act quickly, troubleshoot and proactively manage issues as they arise
  • Be proactive, flexible, reliable and maintain a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional phone manner
  • Outstanding listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills including knowledge of and capacity to effectively use the office suite and database software
  • Current Drivers Licence, own reliable vehicle
