Unlike traditional fire rated plasterboard systems where the lining provides the fire rating, Speedpanel offers a smarter approach to fire compartmentation by integrating fire protection and acoustic performance within a single panel. This also reduces the risk of tenant modifications affecting the fire rating and acoustic performance and also allows walls to be finished with non fire rated linings or other materials without compromising compliance.
Additionally, during construction, fewer passive fire treatments are needed for service penetrations, saving time and costs. This also allows for the apartment to be refit without impacting the primary fire barrier simplifying maintenance and reducing long-term expenses.
