Sydney’s Central Station has become home to the longest escalators in the Southern Hemisphere.

The $994 million upgrade, which will also feature nine 45-metre-long escalators, the largest in the southern hemisphere, is part of the Sydney Metro project, which will link the light rail, suburban trains and metro lines and is due to open in three years.
